Zero Pest truck on a quarterly pest control visit in St. Louis

What Quarterly Pest Control Actually Includes (And Why It Works)

September 26, 2026

Quarterly pest control means a licensed tech treats your home every 90 days, so there's always a barrier between the bugs outside and the inside of your house. Products hold for roughly three months. Four visits a year keeps that barrier in place year-round, and if pests show up between visits, a good company comes back free.

Here's exactly what that looks like with our Home Shield plan.

The first visit is the big one

The first visit treats inside and out:

  • Baseboards, kitchens, bathrooms, the basement and the garage
  • Crack and crevice treatment where bugs hide and travel
  • A barrier around the foundation, doors and windows
  • Webs knocked down around eaves, windows and the garage
  • Wasp nests on the house removed
  • An inspection for entry points, with anything worth sealing pointed out

It takes longer than a regular visit, and it's why the first visit is priced separately.

Then every 90 days

Each quarterly visit rebuilds the outside barrier, knocks down webs, removes wasp nests on the house and checks for new activity. Inside treatment is there when you need it. Most homes do the inside on the first visit and then as needed. Once each spring is a good routine, and you can ask for it on any visit.

Bugs between visits? We come back free

If covered pests come back between visits, call, text or email and we come back and re-treat at no extra cost. That's the part that separates a plan from a one-time spray.

What's covered

  • Ants, including carpenter ants
  • Spiders, including brown recluse and black widows
  • Roaches that come in from outside (American, Oriental and wood roaches)
  • Wasp and hornet nests on the house
  • Silverfish, earwigs, centipedes and millipedes
  • Fall invaders: stink bugs, Asian lady beetles and box elder bugs

What's separate, and why

Some pests need a different kind of treatment, so they're their own programs:

Is it safe for kids and pets?

Yes. Products are safe once they're dry, usually about 30 minutes. Rodent stations are locked, tamper-resistant and out of reach.

What it costs

Home Shield is $45 a month for most homes, billed monthly. Bigger homes run up to about $58. Most homes pay $175 for the first visit, which is normally $275 with $100 off for new customers. There's no contract. If you ever want to stop, give us 30 days' notice. See Home Shield or pricing for details.

Why not just call when you see bugs?

You can, and a one-time treatment will handle what's there that day. The problem is the next wave. St. Louis pests come in seasons: ants in spring, wasps in summer, mice and fall invaders when it cools off. A barrier that's already in place stops each wave at the foundation instead of in your kitchen.
